Today I soldered all the feeder drops onto the rails and turnout frogs and then hooked them all up.
I realized that since the layout was just on saw horses and there was no scenery yet, I could stand it on edge and lean it against the wall so I didn’t have to lay underneath it to do the wiring.
Here is the before photo with all the feeder drops.
I installed two Tam Valley Hex Frog Juicers and hooked the frogs up to them. Then I ran two bus wires for the track wires and connected all the track feeders to them.
That looks a lot neater. I also installed my DCC Wifi adapter so I can use Engine Driver on some old cell phones for throttles, but I haven’t wired that up yet.
Then I used a Bright Boy to clean all the track, hooked up the DCC controller and ran a locomotive all over the layout. No issues other than one point on one turnout I’m going to have to address a bit.
So I grabbed some box cars and a caboose and ran the first train into Blackwing!
